Can you serve me in Québec City without travelling?
Yes. Everything is remote: Google Meet or phone calls, e-signature and a secure portal. That's how we serve all our clients in Quebec.
I'm finishing residency at Université Laval. When should I call?
Ideally a few months before your first year of independent practice, to plan tax, instalments and, if needed, the Collège and RAMQ timelines.
How do I switch accountants partway through the year?
You can switch at any time of year; there is no need to wait for year-end. 1) A free 30-minute call and a review of your file: this first step takes about a week. 2) You sign the engagement letter, then authorize us as your representative with the CRA (Represent a Client) and Revenu Québec (form MR-69 or My Account), for your corporation and for you. 3) With your written consent, we contact your former accountant for the documents we need: the latest T2, CO-17, T1 and TP-1 returns, financial statements, accounting files, payroll and sales tax summaries, and notices of assessment. 4) We take over the bookkeeping from the last closed month and give you a calendar of upcoming deadlines. The overall timing depends mostly on how quickly those documents are transferred.
