JeanKali Business Accounting CPA ("we") complies with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as amended by Law 25. This policy explains, in plain terms, what personal information we collect on sante.jkbusinessaccounting.com (JeanKali Santé CPA, our health division), why, how we protect it and what your rights are.

What we collect and why
- When you email or call us: your name, contact details and the content of your message, including, if you use our incorporation tool and choose to send it to us, the summary of your answers (for example your approximate income). We use it to answer your request and assess how our services may suit you.
- When you book a call: your name, email and chosen time, collected through Google Calendar, to set up and hold the appointment.
- Job applications (Careers page): your CV and the information you send us, only to assess your application.
- Clients: documents uploaded to our client portal (Financial Cents) are used to carry out your engagement, as set out in your engagement letter.
- Browsing the site: our host records technical data (IP address, browser type, page viewed, date and time) in its server logs, for security and to keep the site running.
We collect this information directly from you, by email, phone, Google Calendar or the client portal. The site itself has no form that stores your data. Never send your SIN, RAMQ number, banking details or health information by email: after our first call, we'll invite you to send them through the secure client portal.
Cookies and tracking
This site uses no cookies, no audience analytics, no advertising pixels and no targeted advertising. Fonts are hosted on our own server. The incorporation tool runs entirely in your browser: your answers reach us only if you choose to send the email it prepares. No decision about you is made by automated means.
Consent
By sending us your information after reading this policy, you consent to its use for the purposes described above. You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to info@jkbusinessaccounting.com, subject to our legal and professional obligations.
Who can access your information
Only team members who need it for their work can access it. We do not sell or rent your personal information. We use service providers that process it on our behalf, following our instructions:
- Netlify: website hosting;
- Google Workspace: email and calendar (call booking);
- Financial Cents: client portal.
Information kept outside Quebec
These providers may store or process information outside Quebec, including in the United States. Before sending information outside Quebec, we assess whether it will be adequately protected and make sure the provider is bound by contractual confidentiality and security commitments.
How long we keep it
- Inquiries that do not lead to an engagement: up to 24 months;
- Unsuccessful job applications: 12 months after the hiring process ends;
- Client files: according to our professional and tax obligations, at least 6 years after the end of the year concerned.
After these periods, the information is securely destroyed or anonymized.
Security
We protect your information with reasonable measures suited to its sensitivity: restricted access, protected accounts and encrypted connections (HTTPS).
Your rights
You can ask for:
- access to the personal information we hold about you;
- its correction if it is inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous;
- its release, to you or to a person you designate, in a structured, commonly used technological format (portability);
- the withdrawal of your consent, or that we stop disseminating your information where the law allows.
Write to the Privacy Officer at info@jkbusinessaccounting.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We reply in writing within 30 days.
Complaints
If you believe your information was not handled in line with this policy, first write to the Privacy Officer at info@jkbusinessaccounting.com. We will acknowledge your complaint and reply in writing. If you are not satisfied with the answer, you can contact Quebec's Commission d'accès à l'information (cai.gouv.qc.ca).
Confidentiality incidents
We keep a register of confidentiality incidents. If an incident presents a risk of serious injury, we promptly notify the Commission d'accès à l'information and the people concerned, and take the necessary steps to limit the consequences.
Links to other sites
Our site links to government sites and to third-party services (Google Calendar, client portal). Their use is governed by their own privacy policies.
